The degradation of the biomass with sonication improves the efficiency of the drying chamber (reduces the required solar drying surface and the volume-mass of the amount of water to be evaporated. Subsequently, the thermal energy produced by the gasifier is recycled to aid solar drying and thus allows it to increase the capacity of the same dryer or the % of solids (DS) of the dried sludge!
In the end, 7-10% of the original volume remains as inorganic ash, which is utilized either in the clinker (cement industry), or in compaction (control of malnutrition in agriculture), or as inert in infrastructure projects .
